l Ardbeg is marking the ?10th birthday of its follower’s society, the Ardbeg Committee, with a year of celebrations. Festivities will include a digital campaign and the launch of a limited edition 53.7% abv whisky called Ardbeg Rollercoaster, which will be available exclusively to the 50,000 committee members (rrp £50).

The Whyte & Mackay Premier League darts competition will be touring the country over the next 14 weeks. This year the Scotch distiller has teamed up Everyman, with proceeds from the sale of special tour? T-shirts being donated to the cancer charity.

Bruichladdich distillery has re?installed Scotland’s oldest pot still, which was commissioned in 1880 for the Harvey Brothers’ purpose-built Islay distillery.

Lifting the spirits

I were to sum up alcohol sales over Christmas 2017 in one word, it would be “gin”. At Nielsen, we define the Christmas period as the 12 weeks to December 30 and in that time gin sales were £199.4 million, which means they increased by £55.4 million compared with Christmas 2016.
