Tuborg has replaced Wells & Young’s Red Stripe as the official beer of this year’s NME Awards in a one-year deal. Paul Davies, director of brands at Carlsberg UK, said: “The NME awards and Tuborg are a natural fit. The awards are the most sought after in British music, and Tuborg has become synonymous with the UK music scene.”

The Morgenrot Group ?has been appointed the new importer for Argentin?ian beer Quilmes. The move follows the appointment of Graham Archibald as senior national account manager. Quilmes joins German agency Krombacher Pils and Spanish beer Cruzcampo in the group’s portfolio.

The British Beer & Pub Association has appointed Andy Tighe as its new director of brewing. He is succeeding David Long, who retired after 29 years with the BBPA.

Tighe joined the association in 1998 and moves from his current post as deputy director.

The campaign name There’s A Beer For That may have got cynics like me trying to think of things there wasn’t a beer for, but broadly speaking it was a force for good.
