Glenmorangie for collectors

22 January, 2010

Glenmorangie single malt has launched the first in an annual series of limited- release whiskies under the name Private Collection.

The Sonnalta PX whisky takes the first part of its name from the Gaelic word for “generous” and the second from the Pedro Ximinéz sherry casks in which it is given its final maturation.

Bill Lumsden, the company’s head of distilling and whisky creation, described it as “an extraordinarily rich, dark and absorbing malt whisky”.

He added: “I regularly travel to Spain to select the very best PX casks to use alongside our Bourbon barrels from the US.”?The whisky will have an rrp of £64.99.
