l Isle of Skye blended Scotch has signed a deal to sponsor the Scottish horseracing trainers’ championship and become official whisky partner at Ayr, Hamilton, Kelso, Musselburgh and Perth racecourses. The brand will be stocked in all bars at the courses – along with brand owner Ian Macleod Distillers’ Glengoyne single malt, London Hill gin and Watson’s Trawler rum – and there will be advertising and POS support around the sponsorship.

Bundaberg rum will hold its 2010 Miss Bundy UK competition at the Walkabout bar next to London’s Temple tube station on January 24. The winner will get £200 in cash and a year’s supply of Bundaberg rum. The Australian rum is distributed by Inspirit Brands in the UK.

Famous Grouse will be entertaining rugby fans heading to Scotland’s home Six Nations games with a ceilidh band and a complementary serve of the whisky mixed with Appletiser, ginger beer or lemonade. It will be held in a purpose-built marquee in the grounds of Murrayfield stadium. The Scotch is the official spirit of Scottish rugby.
