Football promo from WKD

WKD has created a promotion to support footie fans watching the World Cup from the comfort of their own homes.

To drive visibility and build rate of sale, WKD Blue multipacks will feature the football-related on-pack offer over the coming months.

The interactive promotion has the strapline “Armchair Army” and will give fans the chance to win a share of a cash prize fund of £500,000.

Every pack will include a money off next purchase voucher to encourage repeat purchase and drive footfall for retailers.

Each 10 and 12 pack of WKD Blue will contain a game card with the chance to win up to £2,000; a humorous, WKD-style Armchair Army Guide to the World Cup and a voucher of up to £2 off a subsequent purchase.

Promotional stock will be supplied to trade customers from the end of April onwards.

Debs Carter, marketing director at Beverage Brands, said: “This promotion is all set to make some football fans very happy indeed this summer, irrespective of how England fare in the tournament itself.”

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
