Laithwaites' customers help raise £40,000

14 April, 2010

Laithwaites is thanking all its customers who bought Chilean wine during March and helped raise money for victims of the country's earthquake.

In total customers raised £39,437.22 through the sales of Chilean wine, which Laithwaites has rounded up to a donation of £40,000.

The money will be allocated by the Chilean Embasssy in London to NGOs in Chile to help rebuild infrastructure and support members of the wine industry affected by the disaster.

Boss Tony Laithwaite said: “I would like to thank all our customers who supported our producers, their families and the families of their employees by buying Chilean wines.

“All our Chilean producers have said how much it has meant to them to know they have such good friends on the other side of the world.”
