Ehrmanns is ready for new challenges

Ehrmanns has moved to new premises in London’s Primrose Hill after 22 years in Highbury and installed a new management team.

Hugo Campbell is now managing director, with Kim Wilson off-trade sales?director, Joy Edmondson buying director and Lenke Kiss financial controller. Peter Dauthieu remains as chairman.

Ehrmanns has introduced a number of new agencies, including Chilensis from VIA Wine, Cava agency Juve & Camps, Stefano Girelli from Italy and Wineco from Marlborough, which is the source of Ehrmanns’ own-brand Clearwater Bay.

“We have the foundations to succeed in what will be tough, but hopefully rewarding, times for our customers, suppliers and ourselves,” said Campbell.

Lifting the spirits

I were to sum up alcohol sales over Christmas 2017 in one word, it would be “gin”. At Nielsen, we define the Christmas period as the 12 weeks to December 30 and in that time gin sales were £199.4 million, which means they increased by £55.4 million compared with Christmas 2016.
