Wolf Blass launches sparkling rosé

Australian wine brand Wolf Blass has added a pink fizz to its portfolio.

Wolf Blass Yellow Label Sparkling Rosé has been launched to capitalise on the growing popularity of sparkling rosé. The sub-category is currently growing at 16% year-on-year, according to Nielsen figures for the 12 months to March 20.

The wine has less than 12 g/l of sugar and is a blend of Pinot Noir (53%), Chardonnay (43%), Shiraz (3%) and Pinot Meunier (1%). It will retail for £9.99.

Neil Barker, UK commercial director for Foster’s EMEA, said: “Wolf Blass Yellow Label Sparkling Brut is currently the fastest growing Australian sparkling wine on the market so we are confident that Sparkling Rosé will be equally as successful.

“We have crafted Wolf Blass Sparkling Rosé to meet all the current consumer trends to ensure that it drives sales and profitability across all retail channels. Branded sparkling wine is now a must-stock for all retailers but especially during the key summer sales period."

Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
