14 May, 2010

Beefeater is rolling out a limited edition version of its London dry gin which will only be available during the summer months.

It will be presented in a bottle decorated with brightly coloured images of the new botanicals.

Payne said: “I wanted to create a gin that would be suited to lighter summer drinks and take advantage of those rarer botanicals that are less readily available.”?Beefeater London Dry Summer Edition will be available from this month for a limited period, with an rrp of £17.99.

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
