J Wray & Nephew has appointed Lynsey Savage as junior brand manager for its Koko Kanu coconut rum. Savage previously worked for Drambuie before joining J Wray & Nephew as a marketing assistant.

Jameson has teamed up with Empire magazine to launch the Done in 60 Seconds competition, which invites budding film makers to recreate animated one-minute versions of classic films. It is also sponsoring the Jameson Empire Awards for a second year.

Richard Hemming MW: beware inverse snobbery

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
