Diageo announces sponsorship deal with Goodwood

Diageo Reserve Brands has announced a three-year sponsorship deal with the Goodwood Estate in Chichester.

The agreement will give the drink giant’s luxury brands a presence across the estate all year round, with a focus on four main events: motor sport at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Glorious Goodwood horseracing, fashion festival Vintage at Goodwood and motor race the Goodwood Revival.

Tanqueray gin will be the lead brand for events, supported by Johnnie Walker Black Label and the Singleton malt whisky.

Rob Ward, head of marketing for Reserve Brands, said: “The estate partnership will enable us to target and engage with a highly discerning crowd, by providing the ultimate drinks experience with some of our premium brands.”

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
