Strongbow pays tribute to football staff

Heineken UK is lining up two football-related TV ads for Strongbow cider.

The 10-second ads are part of its ongoing Hard Earned campaign and will focus on football groundsmen and floodlight installers. Two additional non-football ads will pay homage to the window cleaners of Stoke-on-Trent and conservatory fitters in Lincoln.

The cider brand is also taking its Bowtime Bar on its biggest festival tour. It’s hoped it will reach more than 500,000 festival goers this year and will be supported by a new Facebook page.

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
