Belvedere launches grapefruit flavour

Luxury vodka brand Belvedere is rolling out what it claims is “the only fresh grapefruit distillate within the flavoured vodka category”.

Belvedere Pink Grapefruit is distilled from the fruit grown in Argentina, combined with fresh ginger and lemons.

UK distributor Moët Hennessy describes the new variant as “the most versatile of the Belvedere macerations”, claiming it can be combined with a variety of mixers, including cranberry juice, tonic water and cola. A 70cl bottle will have an rrp of £29.99.

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
