Roberson Wine hosts trade tasting

02 April, 2010

London retailer Roberson Wine is holding its first ever portfolio tasting for the trade on April 27.

There will be a chance to taste what owner Cliff Roberson describes as the “amazing” Bordeaux first growths of the 1990 vintage, and wines from Lafite, Mouton, Margaux, Cheval Blanc and Haut-Brion.

He will also be revealing the results of a two-year search for “new, outstanding winemakers from around France and beyond”, including wines made by Didier Dagueneau, Pierre Usseglio, Henri Boillot and Peyre Rose.

Following the trade event, Roberson will be holding a consumer tasting later in the year. Both events will take place in the Roberson cellars on Kensington High Street.

Richard Hemming MW: beware inverse snobbery

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
