l Booker has launched a new range of eight snacks, all with an rrp of 59p or two for £1, which will deliver profits of at least 32%, according to the cash and carry. The range includes salted peanuts, toffee popcorn and Bombay mix, and all are foil-wrapped for freshness.

Independents can claim a free case of Cherry Vimto from April 1 in an online promotion to celebrate the brandís launch. Retailers must register at vimtotrade.co.uk.

United Biscuits has drawn up new environmental commitments after an in-house report revealed it had already met or exceeded some of its targets, which were created in 2007. The companyís water use has been reduced by 28% Ė which is 3% more than its target, and 10 years ahead of schedule. Transport and factory carbon emission targets were also exceeded.

Britvicís Drench is the first British water brand to use UK-sourced recycled plastic, according to the company. Used containers can be recycled back into PET, which Britvic plans to reuse as part of its commitment to improve?its carbon footprint.

Retail sales for Coca-Cola, Diet Coke and Coke Zero have smashed the £1 billion barrier for the first time, according to brand owner Coca-Cola Enterprises. Nielsen figures for the year to December 26 show value sales grew 4.7% to £1.01 billion across the three brands in the My Coke portfolio.
