Roger Harris launches 50cl bottles

A range of 50cl bottled wines has been launched by Roger Harris Wines and Paul Sapin.

The range of 13, sold under the brand name Wine For Two, was launched in response to growing interest from consumers in smaller bottle sizes.

Clare Montgomery, Roger Harris Wines sales director, said: “Wine For Two is ideal for those who wish to enjoy a glass with a meal, or for occasions when a smaller bottle is more convenient.

” Brands in the ?range include Whistling Thorn from South Africa, Ta Moko from New Zealand and Shy Albatross from Chile?, priced from £3.99 to £6.95.

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
