Syrah with maple syrup goes on sale

A Syrah wine containing 10% maple syrup has been made by a former Lafite winemaker and a professional chocolatier.

Oorain Victoria 2006, produced at Château d’Anglès in the south of France, is a collaboration between Eric Fabre, formerly of Château Lafite Rothschild, and food designer Olivier Orain?.

Pitched at independents, the wine has an abv of 13% and is described as perfect when chilled as an aperitif, or served with a strong cheese or dessert.

It is available from Connoisseur Estates and has an rrp of £19.99.
