Budgens is to increase its range of own-label drinks in 2010, with the launch of sherry, Cognac, grape brandy, white rum? and some exclusive wines.

The chain is in the process of relaunching its gin, vodka and Scotch whisky

The moves are part of a package of own-label activity from Budgens which has seen 500 new lines launched this year.

Marketing director Jemima Bird said: “Customer feedback has been extremely positive and all our relaunched own-brand products are enjoying year-on-year growth.

“Consumers are increasingly looking for value for money without compromising on quality and we’ve responded by focusing on

the development of a quality, own-brand range.”??
