Courvoisier Cognac is running a heavyweight advertorial campaign in The Times to publicise a number of summer events it is involved in under the umbrella of the Revolutionary Spirit Festival.

The publicity campaign kicks off with an eight-page guide in the newspaper’s Playlist supplement with information on the best summer nights out and events, including its own dates.

Full-page coverage will appear for a further six weeks in the supplement, around key themes such as live music or alfresco bars.

There will also be a microsite on The Times website.

Janice McIntosh, marketing manager for the Cognac at distributor Maxxium UK, said: “This campaign will ensure Courvoisier is front-of-mind with our target consumers while positioning the brand alongside revolutionary events in the UK this year.”

Events under the Revolutionary Spirit Festival banner include a "culinary experience" with jelly art creator Bompass & Parr, a Punchdrunk theatre company production with the English National Opera and a presence at the Secret Garden Party festival.

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
