Coors recalls stocks of new Home Draught

09 July, 2010

Molson Coors has recalled several batches of its new Home Draught units for Carling, Grolsch and Coors Light after what it called “an isolated packaging issue”.

The brewer said the recall affected less than 10% of stock produced so far.

It said the action was “precautionary”, following a single consumer complaint about a ruptured pack, caused by “a combination of factors”. Coors added the “vast majority” of affected batches were being held in depots by multiple retailers.

A statement from the company said: “Any potential for a recurrent event, which remains extremely unlikely, makes this a responsible course of action.”?Home Draught was launched in May with an £8 million spend, when chief executive Mark Hunter described it as “one of the most innovative products we’ve created”.
