Britvic chills out over energy plan

09 July, 2010

Britvic is trialling chiller technology which it says could allow customers to significantly reduce energy consumption.

If the trial is successful and rolled out, the initiative has the potential to save 3,800 tonnes of carbon emissions a year and save customers a combined £1.9 million – or £112.32 per year, per chiller.

As well as the new fridges – which are branded with Britvic products – the company is working on energy management systems to measure busy and idle periods, so that energy consumption can be minimised when the chiller doesn’t need to be in use.

Dressing to impress

We’ve all had impressed on us the idea that we mustn’t judge a book by its cover. It’s one we tend to repeat at opportune moments, while singularly failing to follow it when buying books, or anything else.
