Online marketers’ free drinks training

Free training is being offered to ensure online drinks marketing is handled responsibly.

The Portman Group, which operates the industry’s code of practice on the naming, packaging and promotion of alcoholic drinks, is providing the service in partnership with marketing agency BD Network.

Portman’s chief executive, David Poley, said: “With more than 18 million households in the UK now having access to the internet, it is critical the drinks industry markets its products online in a socially responsible way.

“The Portman Group provides expert advice in this area and these sessions will provide marketing professionals with vital information on how the code applies to digital marketing.”?The sessions are open to in-house drinks marketing teams or agencies working with the industry and will run in London, Manchester and Edinburgh during July, August and September.
