Winston value line gets national launch

JTI is launching its Winston brand nationally and will be positioning it in the value cigarette category.

The brand was launched in London last year but the national roll-out will have a reduced rrp and cost price. The new rrp is £4.79 against the previous £5.33.

Both Winston Red and Blue 20s will be available?in price-marked packs for independent retailers.

JTI said the value cigarette category was growing at 56% by volume year on year and now accounted for 22.6% share of the UK market.

Head of communications Jeremy Blackburn said: “Winston is the second best-selling cigarette in the world and it has an established heritage, strong reputation and international appeal.”
