ACS spearheads tobacco protest

The Association of Convenience Stores has launched a nationwide retailer campaign to try and overturn the tobacco display ban.

The postcard campaign encourages retailers to lobby Health Secretary Andrew Lansley to end the legislation which would force retailers to cover their tobacco displays.

Postcards for retailers to send to the health secretary are appearing in cash and carry depots across England from this week.

Retailers will also be able to download the cards from the ACS website.

Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
