Tango gets behind spooky season

Britvic has unofficially declared its Tango soft drink brand the “official” sponsor of Halloween.

imited edition 33cl and 2-litre packs will advise consumers “don’t be seen dead drinking anything else” and “too much Tango turned me into a zombie”.

Promotional events will be staged in October and publicised through You Tube and Facebook.

Senior brand manager Adam Goodger said: “Halloween is a perfect fit for Tango with its so-called sponsorship and limited edition packaging.

“Retailers should be stocking up to take advantage of the sales and profit opportunity the activity will create around this time of the year.”

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
