Carlsberg links up with Sky

Carlsberg has joined forces with Sky to offer consumers the chance to win a Sky 3D package through its new text-to-win promotion.

The competition will see a winner every week from the start of October until January and the promotion will be available on all eight to 24 can packs and 10 to 20 bottle packs of Carlsberg and Carlsberg Export.

Each package contains a 47” 3D TV, a Sky+HD box, a year’s subscription to Sky World and Sky+HD and four pairs of 3D glasses.

Paul Davies, director of brands and insight at Carlsberg UK, said: “Carlsberg UK research has shown that consumers are spending more of their leisure relaxing at home.

“We want to give our customers something that can really help them make the most of this consumer trend.”

The promotion will be supported through-the-line by a press, radio and digital campaign.

Consumers will also have the chance to claim a free pair of Carlsberg branded glasses by sending in a token contained in every promotional pack.

The judges met last week to sort out the winners in the independent categories of our 2018 Drinks Retailing Awards. The results are top secret until the awards dinner on February 6 but it’s giving nothing away to report that the overall standard of those that will be revealed in the shortlist of finalists in the January issue of DRN is higher than it’s ever been.
