Disaronno steps up TV ad campaign

First Drinks is to advertise its Disaronno liqueur brand on TV throughout November and December.

The brand has also become sponsor for prime-time programming on Sky’s Comedy Central channel. The package includes ad break idents during shows such as Scrubs and Two and a Half Men.

The moves are part of a £3 million support package for Disaronno this year.

Senior brand manager Mark Collins said: “It will be impossible to miss Disaronno in this crucial sales period.

“We have doubled marketing invest­ment this year, including on our first-ever TV ads during peak summer months.”

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
