Four more stores for Wine Rack

11 October, 2010

Wine Rack has opened a further four stores, bringing the estate size to 18.

The new stores are in Wimbledon Park, Weybridge, Guildford and Wadhurst, East Sussex.

Three more are scheduled to open in the coming weeks in Muswell Hill, Gerrards Cross and Bristol, according to Venus, the drinks wholesaler which now owns the brand.

Chairman Laki Christoforou said: “We plan to continue the expansion of our Wine Rack business and open at least three more stores before Christmas.

“Our strategy which is to offer a range of interesting wines from smaller producers and less branded wines is working well, and average spend per customer is above target. We also offer a wide range of spirits in every Wine Rack store and we shall be making some superb offers on both wines and spirits in the run up to Christmas.”

Richard Hemming MW: beware inverse snobbery

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps.
