Treasury restructure leads to senior job losses

15 October, 2010

Treasury Wine Estates EMEA, previously known as Fosterís EMEA, has made three senior personnel redundant as a result of a restructure across its wine business.

Commercial director for UK and Ireland Neil Barker, marketing director Richard Trimby and commercial director for continental Europe Stuart Pickles have been laid off.

Dan Townsend, formerly managing director for Maison Louis Latour Agencies, has been appointed general manager for the UK and Ireland. He will take up his new position on January 4 next year.

Meanwhile, Wolf Blass has embarked on a national TV campaign as part of a £2 million spend on the brand this year.

There are two ads: one focuses on a cricket promotion to win VIP trips to the Ashes, while the other features the latest launches, Yellow Label Sparkling Rosť and the premium Silver Label range.

Indeed, these long-winded, wine-fuelled arguments are precisely what make our jobs so much fun.
