New South African agency for PLB

14 October, 2010

PLB has been named UK off-trade agent for Paarl-based wine producer Boland Cellar.

PLB will distribute the Five Climates varietal range, comprising a core line-up of Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, all with an RRP of £7.99.

Future plans for the range include the introduction of a Reserve level as well as blended options.

PLB will also launch Boland’s new Cappupino wine, “an expressive and in-depth Pinotage, imparting the decadent flavours of freshly ground coffee beans, cocoa and chocolate,” according to the company.

Paul Meihuizen, PLB’s New World buying director, said: “PLB already has excellent partners in South Africa but this new partnership will provide complementary opportunities for us, not only adding to our branded portfolio, but also giving us added scale and size in the exclusive and own -abel areas of our business.”

Boland is situated in the Berg River Valley, within the town of Paarl. The winery has been making wine since the early 1940s and exports to over 20 countries.
