Meantime launches London Lager

27 October, 2010

Meantime has introduced London Lager, an unpasteurised beer which is cold matured for six weeks before being packaged.

The lager is made with Golding hops from Kent and East Anglian barley.

The beer is being launched initially in the on-trade and promoted with a caravan being towed around London by a black cab. As well as offering passers-by the chance to sample the new beer, consumers will be invited to appear in photographs and short films for the brand’s Facebook page.

Meantime, established by master brewer Alastair Hook, moved to its new home in Greenwich earlier this year.

Richard Hemming MW: beware inverse snobbery

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
