Two-for-one meals with Phileas Fogg

26 November, 2010

UBUK is running a two-for-one dining on-pack promotion to support its Phileas Fogg snacks range.

Consumers will receive a voucher when they enter a code on the brand’s website, which will entitle them to a second main meal free when they buy the first at over 1,000 participating restaurants.

There will also be competition prizes on offer to consumers buying three or more packs, including a holiday for two in Bali, free copies of Olive magazine and a world cuisine recipe book published by the Gourmet Society, which is partnering the snack brand in the promotion.

George Johnson, UBUK’s marketing director for bagged snacks, said: “This is the perfect vehicle to communicate the brand’s heritage and taste credentials.”

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
