John Smith's extends racing links

29 November, 2010

John Smith’s has extended its horse racing sponsorship to the Wetherby and Sedgefield courses in 2011.

The Heineken-owned ale brand will again sponsor the Grand National and in total will back 203 races at 37 courses across the UK.

The year will also see the second jump season for Smithy the Horse, a four-year-old co-owned by thousands of John Smith’s drinkers.

Other notable sponsorships during the course of the year include the John Smith’s Stakes at Newbury and the John Smith’s Cup at York.

The brand claims to take 35,000 trade customers and consumers racing each year.
