Brand Phoenix expands reach

Brand Phoenix has signed a deal with Angove Family Winemakers to distribute the Australian winery’s brands in the UK and use its production for First Cape Australia, which is expected to hit the UK in 2013.

The agreement is part of the supplier’s strategy to branch out from its South African and Champagne base and take on more agencies from around the world.

Brand Phoenix director Steve Barton told OLN: “Producers around the world are looking at the UK, especially with the news about Constellation, and asking how they get access to the UK market.

“You have to be a pretty large operation these days to allow producers to sell at the prices they need to sell at for people to buy them. A retailer can buy into the Angove portfolio very simply as a bolt-on to Brand Phoenix.”
