Red Bull marks F1 win with can design

Red Bull has produced a limited edition can to mark victories for the Formula One team that bears its name in 2010.

The 47.3cl can features the images of world champion Sebastian Vettel and teammate Mark Webber, who helped Red Bull Racing to the constructors’ championship title.

It is the first time the can design for the market-leading energy drink brand has been changed in the UK.

Red Bull strategy and planning manager Gavin Lissimore said: “This is a really exciting piece of activity for Red Bull and the sports and energy category.

“We expect to add incremental value to the category while exciting consumers by building on the increased awareness and success of the F1 victory, on our fastest-growing SKU.”

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
