Halewood Champagne marks Royal Wedding

Halewood International is launching a limited-edition commemorative label Prince William Champagne to celebrate the forthcoming Royal Wedding.

The company has owned the Prince William Champagne brand for more than 20 years and has historically made it available to selected retail customers.

Managing director Andy Smallman said: “As owners of the trade mark for both Prince William and Royal Wedding, Halewood International felt that it was fitting to launch a limited-edition commemorative label.

“Our fine wine division Chalié Richards, which is distributing the product, has through its history held a number of royal warrants, so we thought this decision was particularly fitting and appropriate.”

The Champagne is expected to retail for around £25. Stock is being sold on a pre-order basis, with mid February being the cut-off for trade sales.

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
