Andrew Peace in sports ads tie-up

Australian wine brand Andrew Peace is spending a six-figure sum on perimeter advertising at high-profile cricket and rugby league matches in 2011.

The cricket deal is for 15 televised matches including England one-day and T20 matches in the summer, while the rugby league ads will be at 15 matches in the Super League and Championship after the new season starts in February.

Admitting that there was an irony in an Australian brand being associated with English cricket, brand owner Andrew Peace added: Im really excited about the development of our brand in the UK.

Reasons to be cheerful

I would like to think my outlook on things is generally optimistic. Perhaps that’s a natural consequence of working with something designed to give pleasure. But recently it has become increasingly difficult to ignore a creeping sense of negativity pervading the British wine trade.
