Fosterís sponsors comedy awards

Fosterís is extending its sponsorship links with the world of comedy by backing the 2011 British Comedy Awards which take place tomorrow (January 22).

A nominations show was aired last weekend and a week of one-hour shows called Comicsí Choice were broadcast on Channel 4 leading up to the awards.

The live awards programme will also be shown on Channel 4, and will be hosted by Jonathan Ross.

Mark Given, brands director at Heineken UK, said: ďThe sponsorship of these long-running awards brings an exciting new dimension to a portfolio of comedy support, which also encompasses the Fosterís Edinburgh Comedy Awards and more than 100 hours of new comedy programming on Channel 4.Ē?

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
