Prince William gets royal wedding label

21 January, 2011

Halewood International is launching a limited edition commemorative label Prince William Champagne to celebrate the forthcoming royal wedding.

The company has owned the Prince William Champagne brand for more than 20 years and has previously made it available to selected retail customers.

“Halewood International felt it was fitting to launch a limited edition commemorative label,” said managing director Andy Smallman. “Our fine wine division Chalié Richards, which is distributing the product, has throughout its history held royal warrants, so we thought this decision was particularly fitting and appropriate.”?The Champagne is expected to retail for around £25, with stock being sold on a pre-order basis.

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
