First Cape launches global brand

28 January, 2011

First Cape has launched a range of varietal wines from around the world called the First Cape Discovery Series.

The first of the series is a Romanian Pinot Grigio which was released into Tesco this month, priced £5.99.

Philip Cox of Cramele Recas, the winery from which the brand is sourced, said: “First Cape is a hugely successful brand, so it’s a fantastic opportunity to be part of the new Discovery Series. To be on the shelf in Tesco is a very proud achievement for the Cramele Recas winery and I am confident that the inherent quality of the wine will be a real winner with the Tesco customer.”

Jonathan Butt, who developed the new range for First Cape distributor Brand Phoenix, said: “The Discovery Series is an exciting addition to the First Cape stable. It will allow First Cape to champion lesser-known regions and deliver a range of global wines to its customer base.

“Consumers will benefit from the range by trialling wines from regions that they wouldn’t normally purchase from, discovering flavours and grape varieties from all four corners of the wine-producing world.”
