Hopping Hare leads the way in Badger’s new look

Hall & Woodhouse is to redesign its bottled Badger ale brands.?Hopping Hare will be the first ale to hit the shelves with the new design in March and has also had a change of recipe. The rest of the range will have a makeover later in 2011.?The company said the aim of the redesign was to create more consistency across the range and gain greater product recognition among consumers.?“Hopping Hare is a refreshing 4.4% abv ale. Consumers were looking for a light, crisp, hoppy ale they could enjoy all year round, so we created a new Hopping Hare with a unique hoppy aroma and a well-balanced bitterness,” said brand manager Anna Corbett.

“These qualities make it the perfect partner to most foods, but it’s particularly good with spicy Thai dishes, fish dishes or roast lamb.

“And it’s a perfect beer

to pack into a picnic basket.”?Hopping Hare will be avail­able at Sainsbury’s and Tesco with an rrp of around £1.75.

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
