P&H show will focus on alcohol

Palmer and Harvey is promising a focus on alcohol at its Pro-retail trade show in May.?“There will be tastings of new alcohol brands and advice on how retailers can sell them, where they should be promoted and how they can be merchandised,” said a spokeswoman.?She added that the show, which will take place on May 10-11 at the International Centre in Telford, Shropshire, will offer masterclasses in applying for alcohol licenses. There will also be retail masterclasses by Mary Portas of Channel 4’s Secret Shopper.

“Help will be on hand from industry experts and P&H’s buyers and marketing managers at this year’s category zones, which will focus on chilled foods and alcohol, the fastest-growing UK convenience categories,” added the spokeswoman.?There will be more than 220 exhibitors, including Cadbury, Mars and Pepsi Co.

“The fact that major brands launch high-?profile products and initiatives at Pro-retail demonstrates how seriously the industry takes the show. It is a way to capture the attention of some of the most influential players in the sector,” said P&H marketing director Richard Hayhoe.?“Every year exhibitors inject huge amounts of creativity and energy into

the event, making it a really exciting place

to be.”
