Stone’s and Brothers join the ginger goldrush

Two new players have entered the burgeoning ginger-flavoured long alcoholic drinks market.?Stone’s ginger wine is the latest brand to enter the alcoholic ginger beer market, while Brothers Drinks has introduced what is thought to be the first ginger cider.?Stone’s Ginger Joe is being brought out by Constellation following the rapid growth of Halewood’s Crabbie’s, and the rival launches of Hollow’s by Fentiman’s and Frank’s by COS Brands. Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
