Rosé company embraces world

Eight rosé wines produced in five different countries have been launched under one brand for the first time.

HwCg has developed the Real Rosé Company, which features wines from France, Chile, Australia, South Africa and Italy.

The range, which has two quality levels - dual varietal wines at £4.99 and single varietal wines at £6.99 - has been developed to allow consumers to explore rosé s from around the world under the banner of one brand.

Henry John, marketing manager at HwCg, said: "Applying a similar strategy to that of Blason de Bourgogne, we aim to provide consistent quality to build trust and loyalty, which will allow consumers to buy into the brand and experiment with rosés from countries they may normally overlook."

Tesco has already agreed to stock the brand's Pink Zinfandel from March and HwCg is seeking other retailers to sell Real Rosé Company wines, which are said to be drier in style than other branded rosés.

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
