Love is in the air for Hancocks

Hancocks cash and carry is gearing up for Valentine's Day .

Included in its gift line-up is a vase containing a fabric red rose and heart-shaped chocolates (rrp £3.99), Guylian's chocolate hearts (rrp £1.09), a Lindor Heart Gift Box (rrp £4.99) and Giant Love Hearts (rrp 25p a pack).

Purchasing director Richard Brittle said: "Valentine's Day is a reason for retailers to have fun with their displays and try some different confectionery products. Sales of confectionery will inevitably rise for the occasion and it can prove to be a good profit opportunity if planned carefully."

I were to sum up alcohol sales over Christmas 2017 in one word, it would be “gin”.
