African Dawn bringing forest council approval to the UK

09 February, 2007

Bottle Green has agreed to represent African Dawn - a World Wildlife Fund- endorsed wine range - in the UK and Irish markets.

The brand is the first in the UK with Forest Stewardship Council-approved natural cork, supplied by Amorim, and with the same approval given to the paper used to produce the label. The brand will also make an annual donation to the WWF from sale proceeds.

The range is made at the Rooiberg Winery in the Breede River Valley, with input from winemaker Nick Butler. It will be launched later this month and consist s of blends at £4.99 and single varietals at £5.99.

Bottle Green marketing director Richard Hitchcock said he thought consumers would take the range "straight to their hearts".
