The Claro Group has appointed its first corporate commercial director for its wine company Santa Rita. Richard Leaver joins the company from Beam Global to help drive value and volume sales for Chile's third largest wine producer in the UK and Ireland. Leaver will be responsible for directing and developing all wines within the group including Carmen, Terra Andina and the Argentinian wine Doņa Paula.

Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte has launched a new internet site with information for trade professionals as well as consumers. The site, is presented in three languages and has a special section - Nicolas Feuillatte Pro - where trade and press can download brochures, technical sheets, price lists and more.

Yalumba has appointed Louisa Rose as chief winemaker - she'll be responsible for all the wines of the Barossa-based Hill Smith family. Rose has worked at the winery since 1992 . Director of winemaking Brian Walsh said: "Over 15 vintages, Lou has been involved in almost every facet of winemaking and cellar management at Yalumba and has well and truly earned her right to the top winemaking job."

Waitrose Wine Direct has launched a podcast with Wine Relief founder Jancis Robinson MW. It can be downloaded for free at and features Robinson talking about six Wine Relief wines available in Waitrose stores and through its website. The podcast gives tasting notes, background information about the wines and advice on grape varieties. Simon Hayward, Waitrose Wine Direct manager, said: "We are looking at different ways of helping our customers choose their wines , Wine Relief is the perfect time to launch our first podcast."

Bodegas Berberana is celebrating its 130th anniversary with the launch of a range of premium wines from Rioja - Berberana Carta de Oro Etiqueta Negra. It includes Joven, Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva Riojas. Supplier United Wineries said the wine "has been produced for today's consumers and offers a more fruity style than classic Rioja". Tesco has confirmed a listing for Carta de Oro Etiqueta Negra Reserva, which will be on shelf by March 1.
