English wine tastings branch out

06 April, 2007

English Wine Producers is organising trade and press tastings in Manchester as well as London this year.

The tastings will take place on April 17 at Bafta, Piccadilly, and on April 19 at Urbis in Manchester. Members will show current vintages including new releases from 2006, while smaller producers will display wines on represented regional vineyard association stands. Commercial wines will be available to taste in style order on a central table.

The tastings also mark the launch of English Wine Week 2007 . Newly-designed POS for the week, which runs from May 26 to June 3, will be unveiled.

EWP marketing manager Julia Trustram Eve said: "We are delighted that this year we will be taking the tasting up to Manchester as well. To be taking English wines out of the vineyard heartlands of the south and Midlands really shows how strong the support for our wines has grown and extended."

Attendance is by invitation only. To register, and for more information, contact EWP on 01536 772264 or
