Ribena is hoping to boost sales this summer with a new 1.25-litre share-size bottle. Available in Ribena Blackcurrant and Ribena Really Light Blackcurrant, the larger bottle will be backed by a £7 million media campaign.

Marbran has launched what it says is the UK's first wheat and potato baked snack. Crips is made using a biscuit baking process rather than being fried so it's lower in fat . Marbran has patented the recipe so it can never be replicated outside of the Crips factory.

Richard Hemming MW: beware inverse snobbery

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
