Howzat for a television promo, says Marston's

Cricket fans are getting the chance to create their own TV ad with a competition from Marston's, sponsor of the England cricket team and

Sky Sports' World Cup coverage.

Marston's has been running a series of ads about umpires during the ICC Cricket World Cup on Sky. Now supporters can make their own umpire ad and see it broadcast on Sky Sports in time for the

final.

The competition will not be limited to one winner and every successful entrant will

also receive Marston's beer for a year.

Marston's brand manger Justin Way said: "We believe this is a first for programme sponsorship ."

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle ľ which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
